Welcome, Welcome !!
As you have most probably noticed, Michael's Humble Abode has changed name and had a face lift! I am proud to announce that the once proud batchelour called Michael L Griifin is now extremely fortunate to be married to the most stunning woman in the world, Jean pictured left. Don't you agree? She is gorgeous beyond meager words!
In honour of this momentus occasion, I have renamed this humble virtual home to "Michael & Jeans Humble Abode".
It would not be fitting to bring a new wife into an old batchelor pad so the site got a face lift too and now includes Jean and our 2 boys.

Well, they have been close friends since the beginning of 1988 when Michael walked up to Jean, gave her his address and asked her to write to him. He had ... how to put this ... ghutspa!
She decided "What the hell, lets write" and I quote: "I don't know if you remember me but I am the girl you gave address to and asked to write to you...". He'll never admit it but he more than likely wondered which ONE this was ... heheheh Just kidding! They never looked back since. There were opportunities for developing the friendship further but when ever one was 'available' the other was not. Because of this, it took them almost 15 (yes, fifteen) long years before they finally got it through there thick skins that they were meant for each other and tied the knot on the 9th day of August. Woman's day as it was.
This day was deliberately chosen. Jeans reason was that their anniversary would fall on a public holiday which is honoured by most countries. Michael's reason : "I get away with skipping this woman's day stuff coz the anniversary is more important and it is easy to remember coz public holidays are big things for the working class" I'll leave it there before he changes feet.

I work as an IT Specialist focusiing on the AIX discipline. I also play guitar and worship, along with Jean and our sons, at Lyttelton Methodist
As you may have gathered, I am a Rock Solid Radically Saved Jesus Freak!!! Jesus Christ became an real part of my life in August 1986 while a leader on a youth camp. It is here that I first met Him and gave Jesus Christ my whole and entire life. It has been a difficult walk since then. Then again, Jesus never promised an easy ride, rather the He will never leave us orphans (John 14:7) and He will give us the strength we need to face life (Philippians 4:13). Jesus gave everything for us (John 3:16), so I give the little I have back. |

I specialise in trauma counselling, but unlike many other professional to whom you go to after experincing trauma, I work directly with people in the midst of some of the worst days of their life in hospital and that of their families.i It is not all I do and have many fond memories of people, couples and families made whole! |
